Introject

Introjects are headmates who have an original source that their personality, identity, and memories may be based partially or fully on. They can join a system for any number of reasons: having similar traumas to an individual, seeing strengths in the individual that the collective would benefit from, etc. An introject only splits if the brain finds them to be useful to their safety and recovery, never just because.

Introjected memories are never of just random source memories, as any memories they have of their source will always be inherently traumatic. These memories are always to mask the real memories this part holds to digest or process easier. If they don't hold any traumatic memories, they're likely to have no source memories at all. Any non-traumatic source memories they have are always just made up based on watching or viewing their source (be it a show or a game's lore, etc), and it's best to separate from these memories entirely because they aren't actually theirs or "real".

An introject can be of many types, such as:

• Factroject:
Headmates that are based on a factual or non-fictional source, like another person. Sources can include celebrities, historical figures, friends, abusers, or anyone else.

• Faitroject:
A headmate who is a blend of both factrojection and fictrojection. These headmates may be sourced from connecting factual and fictional sources, or two completely different ones. These headmates may have differing levels of introjection. One may be more of their factual source than their fictional one, or vice versa.

• Fictroject:
Headmates based on a fictional source. Common sources are media like games and books, most commonly from childhood sources. A fictroject based on a source that was made by oneself (the system and/or its headmates) would be called an Autoject.
